Now lets start our first page.
Opening a file, inserting meta tags, and body attributes

Your file will open with all the necessary html code for beginning and ending body and html automatically generated, your screen should look like this:

Now you should save your file, the system will call it noname.html until you save it. You cannot add images or make internal links until it is saved. Note the ace default is set to save as .html but you can save as other extensions and there is a popup list of preset choices.
To define the body items on your page, such as background, text color, and link colors, click on the specialized tab and the following choices will appear:

click on the body tag icon and the following screen will pop up

You can browse you computer for your background (click on the little file folder),and then change the background color, text and link colors and see how they will look on your background.
Note: to you graphic buffs who love border backgrounds. You can set the browser to auto indent a certain number of pixels and avoid using tables. In the image above I have set the browser to indent 100 pixels.
When you are happy with the background and all the color selections then click okay. When the popup to the right appears choose yes. This is very important if you want to save your selections!
The system will add the html code as follows: (NOTE for illustration purposes this is an image).

Meta tags made easy.
What are meta tags? These are the tags that search engines use to find your website. You will find
that the software makes using and building them a snap. Click on the meta tags icon, to the left of the body tag icon we just used.

Fill in the title of your page.
Make up a brief sentence describing your page.
enter a list of the key words describing your page
Your name should automatically appear in the name section (you can overwrite it if you choose)
After you have followed the steps on page one your code should look like this:
